Evidence
Behavioral Strategy draws on research from behavioral science, psychology, and applied settings. That research can inform particular decisions. It does not by itself validate the integrated practitioner approach documented on this site.
What the evidence does and does not establish #
| Evidence type | What it can support | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Research on components | Findings about a specified intervention, behavior, population, or mechanism | Validation of Four-Fit, DRIVE, or a Behavior Fit Assessment score |
| Practitioner synthesis | The author’s proposed concepts, workflow, and judgment rules | Calibrated prediction or causal effectiveness without testing |
| Retrospective case analysis | A documented outcome and an interpretation through this site’s concepts | That the original team used Behavioral Strategy or that the framework caused its result |
| Direct tests of the integrated approach | Evidence that would compare the workflow against a defined alternative | Such evidence cannot be inferred from the other three categories |
The integrated practitioner approach has not been independently validated. The current evidence collection does not establish that it outperforms BCW, Fogg’s methods, nudging, or other approaches. See authorship and contribution boundaries and the editorial evidence rules.
Available Resources #
Research Library #
A curated collection of academic papers with study findings, proposed relevance, and limits on their use here.
Research Agenda #
Proposed tests of the integrated approach: rating reliability, decision quality against an actual comparator, outcomes, harms, and failure conditions. These are open research questions, not completed studies.
Dispositional Fit, Personality, and Durable Behavior #
Evidence review separating relatively enduring individual differences from the adjacent self-concept and domain-identity literature. The latter can provide a signal in specific cases but does not define Dispositional Fit or BSM Identity.
Evidence Ledger #
A claim register with source links, measurement context, and available effect sizes and windows. An entry documents the claim and its scope; it is not proof of the entire methodology.
Corrections #
A dated record of material public corrections, including the affected URL, reason, and status.
Editorial Policy #
The evidence ladder, source rules, disclosures, client-case policy, AI-use policy, and correction workflow used for publication.
Featured cases #
These are retrospective teaching analyses unless a page explicitly documents use of the method. Company outcomes and our interpretation must be assessed separately.

Evidence standards we follow #
- Pre-register primary behavior and success thresholds when possible.
- Publish denominators, windows, and assignment method.
- Prefer field experiments and naturalistic observation over attitudinal surveys.
- Store every global claim in the Evidence Ledger with an ID and link it from the page where the claim appears.
- Publish null, negative, and contradictory findings under the same evidence rules as favorable findings.
- Correct unsupported claims across human and machine surfaces and record the change in the corrections log.
Open questions include whether the proposed gates improve decisions and which judgments transfer across settings. Report a stronger source or a material error through the corrections process.
